About Me
My name’s Erika, I’m a Canadian artist living in the Netherlands. I’ve been painting for 15 years and studied Fine Arts at the University of British Columbia.
I started painting portraits back in 2014 as a way to express my love of my friends and to greave people I had lost. 8 years later I began taking commissions to be able to do the same for others.
I love to create paintings that have a deep meaning to people and especially to capture loved ones.
My Work
Within my sculpture art I like to explore difficult emotional states in the hope of giving people, not only a way of seeing feelings which they may struggle to place within themselves, but also to create a connection and normalize the daily internal struggles we all face.
In an ever more digital world, I want my work to give people an experience of something still, solid and physical in the hopes of slowing them down and hopefully connecting them more to themselves.
